How to prune for beauty, production, safety, and shape.
We will go over the tools for the job and the basic structure and growth habits of some of the common fruit trees. We will talk about the different pruning techniques used for different kinds of fruit trees. We will go out into the Trees That Please apple orchard for interactive pruning demonstrations and time for questions and answers.

We will show you the do’s and don’ts of planting a tree or shrub. What size and shape hole, what to add to your soil or not to add, how deep, how to form a berm, and how best to water it. These techniques will greatly help your trees not only survive, but thrive!

We will discuss:

-Proper care for a newly planted tree
-Followed by a live hands-on demonstration!

How to Correctly Prune a Tree or Shrub!

Come learn how to prune shade trees, evergreens, flowering trees, and shrubs.
Learn how and when to prune most of your backyard trees and shrubs.
We will go over the tools for the job and the basic structure and growth habits of some of the common trees and shrubs that grow in our area. We will go over pruning techniques, some basic structural tips, and how to prune for more flowers. We will have on-site demonstrations and time for questions and answers.

Garden Planning with Vegetables, Herbs, and Pollinators!

Come learn some different techniques on how to lay out and prepare a vegetable garden.
We will explore different ways of gardening in rows, raised beds, containers, and waffle gardening. Soil prep, to till or not to till, and mulches. We will cover basic plant selection and the timing of planting, seed starting and some good plant companions. Bring your questions and ideas!
