English Columnar Oak (Quercus robur ‘fastigata’) is an upright growing variant of the English Oak with a 700 year life span. English Columnar Oak has upright growth for first 70 years then a spreading canopy. Yellow fall color fading to chocolate colored leaves that then hang on the tree through winter. This oak has deep roots and can grow 1′ to 2′ annually. Best with regular water. Does well in clay or sandy soils. Hardy to USDA Zone 4.
