Loves wet soil! Ideal for high water areas where there is plenty of room for growth. Extremely fast grower in optimal conditions.
Hybrid between the native Valley Cottonwood and a Black Cottonwood. Robusta has surface roots so plant at least 40′ from any structure. Leaves may be up to 8″ wide. We propagate male trees only so these are cotton less!
Cottonwood Robusta is not a good tree for dry mesa locations as it requires regular water. Beautiful golden fall color.

Cottonwood Robusta (P. wislizeni  x  P.  trichocarpa), a hybrid between the native Valley Cottonwood and a Black Cottonwood. It is a fast growing shade tree where water and space are not limiting. It can grow 3′-5′ yearly reaching 40′-50′ tall and wide. Robusta has aggressive surface roots so plant at least 25′ from any structure. Leaves may be up to 8″ wide. We propagate male trees only so these are cottonless! Cottonwood Robusta is not a good tree for dry mesa locations as it requires  regular water. Yellow fall color.  Hardy to USDA Zone 4.
